Out With the Old…

Gone is Ryan Kessler and coach John Tortorella, the later of whom I am definitely happy about. Tort’s was a big part of last years problems in my opinion.

This years version of the team started with new players like goalie Ryan Miller, forwards Radim Vrbata, Nick Bonino, Derek Dorsett and Linden Vey and defenceman Luca Sbisa. None of the new players I had really heard of other then Miller and Dorsett. I didn’t know what to expect from this years Vancouver Canucks when the season started.

Good Start…

I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised with how the Canucks have started. A little over a month and 16 games into the season the Nucks are a very respectable 11 and 5 to start which is good enough to have them in second place in the West and inside the playoff picture. I know it is early but after last years disastrous season it is a good start to turning this around. Miller has been solid in net and new comers Vrbata and Bonino are third and fourth in team scoring.

All in all lot’s to be happy about so far and hopefully they can keep it going for the rest of the season.
