Hotel, Spa and Golf x two
The Copper Point Resort and Copper Point Golf Club located in Invermere, BC have everything you need for a family and friends vacation or a couples getaway. We loved the hotel, with its fabulous pool area and multiple patios that are made for summer sipping. And we even played golf! The golf course conditions, on both 18 hole courses were terrific.
Copper Point Golf Club
The Golf Club consists of two immaculately conditioned 18-hole courses that follow the rise and fall of the Kootenay Rockies. The Par 70 classic Copper Point course has 5 sets of tees (4,945 to 6,807 yards), wide fairways, elevation changes, deep woods and high rough. The innovative design of The Ridge at Copper Point course features full length Par 3 and Par 4 holes that offer a fun round that is both playable and challenging. It has a par of 62 and 4 sets of tees ranging from 3,575 to 5,072 yards. As part of this visit we played The Ridge in a golf tournament (1 of 2 best net) format and had a great time.
It didn’t hurt that one of Jeff’s playing partners was Kelly Hrudy.
Copper Point Resort
During our stay at Copper Point Resort we had the opportunity to try out two different room types. The first two nights of the trip we were alone in a standard room and the second two nights we shared a 2-bedroom & loft suite with some friends. All rooms are very well appointed with nice fixtures that included hardwood and slate floors, leather chairs and sofas, granite countertops, vessel sinks and stainless steel appliances. Rooms have either a mountain or a golf course view. All rooms have a private balcony. The standard room was very nice but the 2-bedroom loft was fabulous!
Standard rooms are 275 sq. ft and have one queen bed. The linens were nice but it was the plush bathrobes that really got our attention. (No we did not try to steal one, but they are available for purchase). Standard rooms have a microwave, sink and a mini-fridge to keep your beverages chilled. The 2 bedroom & loft suite is 1,330 sq.ft. and all are on the hotel’s top floor. They are perfect for three or six (3 beds) but can accommodate up to eight (with a pullout). The upstairs loft had a queen bed vaulted ceilings, a flat-screen TV and three-piece bathroom with a tub-shower combo. Downstairs there were two bedrooms with one king bed (in the master) and one queen (in second) and a pull-out sofa in the living room. The two full baths downstairs had very nice fixtures and large walk-in showers; the master even had a seat. But it was the kitchen and living area that we really enjoyed and it became the ‘party’ room for the tournament.
If you need even more room there are also 3-bedroom & loft suites available.
Living area of 2-bedroom & loft suite. Fireplace, leather sofa, love seat and chair and access to large balcony with BBQ. Staircase up to loft with queen bed and 3 piece en-suite with shower tub combo.
Kitchen area of 2-bedroom & loft suite. This kitchen is great for a party (and a family too of course). High-tech stainless steel fridge with freezer on bottom and ice maker (of course). Equipped with double sink, microwave, coffee maker, glass and dishware for 8. Washer and dryer, ironing board and iron and just about anything else you can think of.
The pool area includes an indoor and an outdoor pool (both large), two hot tubs and plenty of lounge areas. There is an outdoor fire pit for when the weather turns chilly. Bar service is not available in the pool area (we were told that it may be coming next year) but you can access the restaurant’s bar directly from outside.
The 2nd bedroom was big enough to be called a master. The only difference was the queen bed vs. the king in the master. There is a large walk-in closet and a private balcony for two. The 3-piece bathroom also serves as the guest bathroom.

The Copper Point Resort is a much needed boost for the area. The rooms are great and the entire resort is well designed and nicely appointed. Copper Point Resort does have an onsite restaurant and bar called ‘Elements’. We visited it twice, once for a snack and once for dinner. We will write about our experience in a separate blog. We did not have a chance to try out The Fusion Spa also located on site – next year for sure.
