Shot making options plentiful at Black Mountain Golf Course in Kelowna…
After our ‘first’ at Tobiano the other day, we had the pleasure of another ‘first’ with a round at the newly opened Black Mountain Golf Course in Kelowna, B.C. It is similar to Tobiano in the fact that the beautiful drive up to the clubhouse started about a mile before you reach the property with georgous views of the golf course, its elevation changes and perfectly striped fairways.

Driver or Five-iron?
At “only” 6,394 yards from the back tees, Black Mountain is not overly long but it does present many options off the tee. You could play this course over and over again using a different club off every tee to present many options for your approach to the green. It is, however, the Par 3’s that present the real challenge to posting a low score. All six of the Par 3’s present a unique challenge and range from 154 yards to 210 yards with blind or no bail out areas from the tee making these holes really the protectors of the golf course.
At the end of the day…
Black Mountain Golf Club offers some excellent beverage and food selections at great prices and the views from the patio aren’t bad either. It is a definite must play the next time you are in Kelowna. In fact we believe to truely appreciate it you should make the time to play it more than once. A big thank you to General Manager and Head Professional Eric Thorsteinson for his hospitality during our visit.
