Great Golf in British Columbia
We decided that we needed to post a blog about courses we have never played or haven’t played in a long time to ensure that we could be more inclusive in our opinions of our favorite golf courses – please keep in mind due to our location this is a British Columbia list, however we hope to expand it the next year or two.

We have been fortunate to be personally invited by a number of course owners or operators to visit their properties the last couple of years and despite the open invitation we haven’t really taken advantage of the offers (our fault not theirs). And since we have made a resolution to play more golf this year here is our ‘plan to play’ list for 2009:

Tobiano Golf Resort – Voted one of Canada’s best new courses in 2008 and we still have not played it. Having driven by it a couple of times, the views are amazing.
The Rise – The Fred Couples design is located in the sunny Okanagan, our favorite summer time destination.
Long Beach Golf Course – A visit to the beautiful town of Tofino, with the Wick Inn, is a must do BC trip at least every few years.
Rivershore Golf Links – While we’ve played it before, mainly during our work years there, it has been 6 or 7 years since we’ve played the best fairways in B.C.
Swan-e-set Links Course – I last played Swan-e-set during the Canadian Assistants’ Championship in 1994. Tara carried the big Tour bag as my caddie and was not really compensated by my $300 check for a 30th something finish. So maybe this time I will carry her bag!? Or at least pay for the cart.
University Golf Course – Although I played it in 2008 for the first time, I think Tara would love it and the “hospitality” is fantastic.

Along with these courses we are also planning to take a trip to the Sunshine Coast and/or the Gulf Islands to check out some of the great golf properties that many BC golfers never take the opportunity to play. Stay tuned for our golf course and travel blogs this summer.
