Now everyone has a chance to participate in Vancouver 2010!
Participate – VANOC announced this week that it is looking for volunteers with all types of abilities and performance skills to participate in sharing Canada with the world as part of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. No previous experience is necessary. David Guscott, vice president of celebration and partnerships announced “we’re looking for thousands of people who are brimming with enthusiasm and wear their hearts on their sleeves to perform in these large-scale productions”. For the Camper – Don’t want your family and friends staying with you for 2 weeks? Over 350 non-hook-up recreational vehicle sites will be available for rent at Spanish Bank and Jericho Beach Parks from February 10th to March 2nd, 2010. Reservations are now being accepted by clicking here!
Aboriginal Artists – VANOC is seeking Canadian Aboriginal artists and artisans to apply for the opportunity to display and sell artwork, products and services at the Artisan Village and Business Showcase that will take place from February 12th to 28th, 2010 as part of the Aboriginal Pavilion. This Week – The 3rd annual “Our Community Bridging Celebrations: Welcoming People from the Four Directions” is a free, one-day, family-focused event celebrating First Nations culture and teachings. The event takes place Sunday, September 20th from 1:00 to 5:00 at John Hendry Park/ Trout Lake.

Next Week – LiveCity Vancouver is hosting the first of two Open Houses on Saturday, September 26th to give residents more information about the City’s plans for the 2010 Winter Games experience at these free and non-ticketed venues. The Open House will be held at the Roundhouse Community Center in Yaletown from 10:00 am until noon.
