A home at University Golf Club
In 1987 a small band of volunteers, wishing to create a golf museum, acquired permission to save and restore the original clubhouse of the University Golf Club at the corner of Blanca Street and West 10th Avenue in Vancouver. The BC Golf Museum was officially opened on May 6, 1989 BC Golf Housesmallwhen Golf Hall of Fame of BC member Dave Barr hit a replica featherie with an authentic 1790s track iron. It is now the oldest surviving clubhouse in British Columbia. Today the museum’s collection is second to none in Canada, showcasing the history of the game, from its roots in Europe, to its beginnings here on the West Coast and forward through to today.
